Trouble sleeping? PeacefulSleepis a real calming and sedating blend.
More than one research study has demonstrated the effects of essential oils such as True Lavender, Valerian and Vetiver in serving to promote better sleep, just by simple diffusion and inhalation.
Health Benefits
- Serves to relax and calm the sympathetic nervous system. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the sympathetic nervous system is related to the expansive, fiery Yang energy. When our sympathetic nervous system is over-stimulated, agitation and poor sleep can be experienced.
- Studies with the inhalation of small quantities of essential oils such as True Lavender have demonstrated that both REM (rapid eye movement or dream sleep) and non-REM sleep are positively improved, leading to a refreshing sleep in the case of mild insomnia. Common sleep medications, such as benzodiazepine drugs, are powerful, but they disturb REM sleep, often leading to grogginess and hangover the following day, as well as leading to dependence if over-used.
